Guiding Light fans often asked why we never got to hear "Alan"/Ron sing, but there was one classic Christmas moment when "Alan" did sing. While it may have been too brief, it is one of the things that make this clip a wonderful Spaulding Christmas memory. Ron and Marj Dusay (Alexandra) shine in this classic clip and prove why they are the best brother and sister duo to ever hit television!

This has to be the most that Alan/Ron ever sang on GL.
John Conboy was the Executive Producer at the time, and I know he toyed around with the idea of Alan/Ron singing.
While I appreciated John's desire for me to sing, I didn't want Alan suddenly to break into song!
This was a perfect path to the singing, and a fun Christmas with all the Santas showing up!

Oh how I miss the characters of Guiding Light. Watching that clip reminded me of why I was a lifelong fan of the show. I began watching it with my mother on my school lunch breaks when the show was back-to-back with Search for Tomorrow and lasted a mere 15 minutes. I'm telling my age here. I always wished Alan/Ron would have been given more chances to sing but I'm grateful to hear that lovely voice in the clip.
